When you first connect your data, Stacker will automatically enable the tables and fields for you - so you'll be able to see them straightaway in your app.
You can choose to turn off - ie disable - any of your tables in your app settings. This will stop the records being pulled into Stacker.
How to enable or disable a table in Stacker
First navigate to your App Settings window, head to Data Sources and click on the 'Schema' button to pull in any new tables from your data source.
When you add new tables to your data source, Stacker will pick these up the next time you refresh your Schema, or automatically every 24 hours. But for the security of your data we will not enable any of these tables in your app automatically.
This means you will need to manually enable your new tables in Stacker. Here's how 👇
Open the detail view for your data source by selecting the drop-down arrow.
From here you can toggle your individual tables on and off:
Do note that if you choose to disable a table, any links that you've set up to this table in another table will no longer be active.
Note: it is possible to hide a table from the navigation bar but still use the data in your app - see our Navigation Guide for more information.
How to enable or disable a field
Similarly, you can choose which fields you want to enable for use in your app. If you add a new field into an existing table, Stacker will pick it up on the next update but it will not be enabled. You must manually toggle it on if you would like to use it.
How to enable a field:
- After running a schema update in App Settings - Data Sources, you can enable a field by opening up the Settings for that table and switching to the Fields tab.
- You can then toggle on the new field. This will allow you to enable it in your app, for both list and detail views.
