List: Filter

Who can use this feature?

You can apply filters to a List layout to limit which records will show in that list. You can limit a list view to only show records that meet (or do not meet) specific conditions. Filters apply to all users including admins.

 

Permissions

If you're looking to control which data specific users or roles can see, use Permissions instead. 

Enable List Filters

  1. Click Edit Layout
  2. Click Filter
  3. Click + Add Filter

Filters can only use the 'AND' logic. If you have multiple conditions, then the records must meet all conditions. The more filters you have, the more limited the results.

Users must have 'read' permissions for the fields used in the filter. Otherwise, the filters will not work for those users and they will see no records.

In our properties app we have set the filter to only show properties that are not empty. This means any properties that are currently empty will not show up on our list.

We can also add additional filters to only show a status of a property, such as "Sold" or "Offer Accepted"  Screenshot_2022-02-23_at_14.43.02.png

 

You can use filters along with multiple list views to create different layouts.
